Scott Velasquez has an extensive background in music, starting in A&R at 18 years old, at a brand-new label founded by Steve Rifkind, via Universal-Motown. He was a member of the team that helped produce Grammy award winning albums “Tha Carter III” (Lil’ Wayne”), “Tha Carter IV” (Lil’ Wayne), and Chamillionaire’s “Ridin’” He signed and co-wrote SoMo’s “Ride”. Scott owns his own Artist Development/Management company, Rukus Management, dedicated to developing indie and breaking artists. With a background in Music Supervision as well, he has worked on James Franco’s movie, “Actor’s Anonymous”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “How To Get Away With Murder”, “Scandal”, The Hunger Games franchise and others. He is classically trained as a vocalist and graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Performance: Jazz Studies and Media Marketing from the University of North Texas. He then did his Graduate work at Berklee College of Music, specializing in Music Business and Music Supervision.
