Manifesting from the Coachella Valley, where the glitz of one of the world’s biggest music festivals overshadows the reality of a small desert community, Bear Fight took his first steps, and the more they play live, the tighter they got. Soon their hometown reputation warranted them as the band to see. Things got serious when they were invited to open for Fits & the Tantrums at a Goldenvoice show. Performing in front of 7000 people. This gave them a taste that left them wanting more. So, they ventured outside of the Coachella Valley and made the two-hour trip to LA. Bear Fight began playing venues all over LA, bringing their same high-energy live show to an LA crowd looking for a good time. They quickly grew a dedicated fan base in the City of Angels. As the group tracks their calculated pool of trending Coachella Artists, they patiently prepare for Bear Fight’s shot to be next.

THE KILLING FLOOR combines the best of British and American rock, and delivers an electrifying blend of alternative, rock, pop, punk and grunge.

With a blistering live show, The Killing Floor draws together raw visceral power, with impassioned melody and songwriting which has earned them comparisons to acts like, Queens of The Stone Age, Muse, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters and Nirvana.

The members, hailing from both the UK and US, came together when brothers Mark and Oliver Alberici from London, had a chance meeting with Marco Argiro at Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios in NYC where they had all been working with hit producer Mark Plati (David Bowie, Cure) on separate projects at the time. Recognizing they shared not only a producer, but many of the same influences, ideas and attitudes to music, they began writing and recording together and after taking the name The Killing Floor from the Howlin Wolf song, hit the road with their new material, quickly gathering a following and gaining the reputation of being one of the best new live acts around.

The Killing Floor then released their debut self-titled album which the press described as “an enticing record with mass appeal”, “proficient songwriting”, with an “infectious quality”. The song ‘Star Baby’ was chosen as the album’s first single, and the band shot their first music video with legendary Hollywood director Joel Schumacher, some of who’s film credits include: The Lost Boys, Batman Forever, A Time to Kill, and Flatliners. The single was featured in MTV programs, Road Rules Challenge, The Real World and Best Ink, and received heavy rotation on US radio. In support of this, TKF toured throughout the USA, Canada, UK and Europe, taking in events such as CMJ, SXSW, CBGB Festival, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape, and Donnington’s Download Festival.

The band then headed back in the studios of Brighton England, Nashville and NYC, to begin writing and recording what would be their second album ‘Antisocialmedia’ from which the band released the first single ‘Corruption Capital’ . The song received extensive rotation on US national commercial rock radio playlists including WBOS, KNDD, KXXR, KNRK and WRKZ to name a few. Pure Volume described the single as “a seamless blend of melody and political rock” and the video was premiered on Guitar World Magazine. The video also gained heavy rotation being featured in all Journeys shoe stores throughout the USA.

Last year saw the The Killing Floor continue to deliver their hard hitting blend of rock swagger to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic with live performances at SXSW, The Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, where they joined the Vans Warp Tour in conjunction with Ernie Ball, Indie Week Europe as special guests after winning ‘First Prize Best Band’ at Indie Week Canada in Toronto, and across the UK in support of the release of their Ep ’Tongue Tied’.

Once again the EP and live shows received rave reviews and featured on various TV and radio stations.

Some find success, other’s create their own. Independent artist isn’t a beginning title that Eric Ziegler has been dubbed throughout his entire career. But the country artist from Bonne Terre Missouri owns it like a compliment.

After a successful career in a signed Rock band at the age of 18, Ziegler walked away to create his path that he felt was his calling. Now after reamurging with his debut solo album, 100% funded in every aspect personally, “My Life” is the product that Ziegler went into hiding to create. My Life is a contribution that Ziegler credit’s to his experiences he’s endured and celebrated in. From the loss of his father, to the celebration of his hometown. The discovery of love, and the feeling of real heartbreak, Ziegler finally has an album he feels comfortable with putting his signature on. This is his story. This is journey. Welcome to his life.

Two words come to mind when describing Steff Neff; dark and sparkly. She is an expert at combining sugary pop melodies with much darker lyrics that bleed raw emotion. Steff is both a talented entertainer and passionate songwriter. Taylor Swift’s former manager, and the founder of The Music Industry Blueprint, Rick Barker says “[She] had me from the very, very, beginning…I really dig [her]”. Tom Jackson from live music cares states “I love [her] voice…I love what [she’s] doing.” Steff Neff was one of 23 applicants accepted into Belmont University’s Songwriting program, out of thousands of candidates in 2015. She was also one of 27 applicants chosen internationally to participate in the “It All Starts with A Song” songwriting retreat hosted by the former VP of Warner Chappell Music, inc., Judy Stakee, in 2017. Judy Stakee says “Between her strong vocals, pop melodies, and insightful lyrics, it’s hard to believe she is only 19!”

MAWD is the moniker of California bred folk/folk rock/indie rock artist Madeleine Mathews. The soulful, textured timbre of her voice is diverse and ranges anywhere from a sultry/breathy vibe, to a full on Karen O/Janis Josplin-esque belt. Although she pulls influences from folk and indie rock greats like The Staves, First Aid Kit, The Lumineers, The Head and the Heart, The Alabama Shakes, and many more, MAWD’s sound is distinct and unique. The talented multi-instrumentalist recently transplanted from her small Northern California town to sunny Los Angeles in order to pursue her music career after being signed to LA based indie label Soundx3. Since moving there in early August, she has already thrived in the live music scene playing at hotspot venues likes The Hi Hat, numerous shows at The Hotel Cafe (opening for Larkin Poe at a sold show), The Gibson Showroom (playing on line-ups with Robby Krieger from The Doors), YouBloom Festival, Sofar Sounds, and with many more to come in 2018 including touring to SXSW in the Spring of 2018. Before moving to LA, MAWD has toured internationally in Sweden and played shows all over Northern California. MAWD has not only captured venue’s attention with her and her bands excellent live performances, but has also been interviewed by various newspapers, blogs, and radio stations. She has been featured on KCSN 88.5 LA Buzzbands Hour, KCSC, and KZFR Radio as well as in multiple indie blogs, Instagram music blogs, and featured twice on the indie Spotify playlist blog Indie Happy Hour. She has garnered the interest of various sync companies competing neck and neck with top acts like Mumford & Sons and First Aid Kit for placements. She is now back in the studio writing her next album while perfecting her live shows with her LA backing band. MAWD will release a small Third Man Records style stripped down EP in early 2018.

That performance of “Wanted” was one of my favorite that I have ever seen, so we have to show some more love, that was phenomenal, that was incredible, I’m inspired and intimidated because that was awesome.

Hunter Hayes in August 2017 at Preston Taylor Boys and Girls Club in Nashville

“The country-pop narrative of Plano’s Taylor Gayle is very reminiscent of a certain famous Taylor in her younger days, but that’s about all of the comparisons that we’ll make regarding her young career. Gayle is only 12 years old, but when you hear her sing, you would never assume that age in the slightest. With a bit of country, and a bit of pop, she has a very commercial sound that could easily turn her into a household name before she’s legally able to drive a car. The music industry has taken note, as well; her debut EP was created with the help of Margaret Becker, a Grammy-nominated producer with a string of successful singles to her name. Taylor Gayle has made the move to Nashville, and when you hear her, you’ll understand that she’s more than a kid with a dream.”

Allen Halas, Five to Watch in November 2016

“If Taylor stays on this path of growth and learning, she will be a force to be reckoned with.”

Rick Barker- Founder of Music Industry Blueprint and Former Manager of Taylor Swift

“Taylor is the epitome of soon to be superstar. There is a rare breed of artists, in her genre, that embody the natural ability to write, sing, and perform at an equally high level. The fact that she has begun to master those attributes at such a young age is remarkable. Her energy and drive for perfection is contagious in the studio. I have never worked with an artist her age that has such a high level of patience for getting things right. That persistence for perfection is sure to be a driving force in her growth as an artist.”

The Feathered Fish is an American band from Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Feathered Fish was formed in 2013 by vocalist Jeremy “Hanky” Hankins and lead guitarist Johnny Ray Wolfe. The current line up features Lee LeGros on drums and Collin Hill on bass guitar. While the Feathered Fish is a relatively new band, they have managed to generate a solid, home-grown fan base on the east coast of the United States, specifically in the Northern Virginia area. They have evolved over the past few years by fusing an organic blend of Rock, Southern Rock, and Reggae in their original songs. They have recorded their songs in Clear Track Studios in Clearwater, Florida, finishing their single “We On The Run” set for release in March 2017. This single will also be available on their 1st EP which is scheduled to be released in the Summer of 2017. The Feathered Fish primarily play on the east coast, but plan to branch out across the country and tour the west coast in the near future.

Christian Gisborne, founder of Northern California’s Velvet Starlings, is a 14-year old British-influenced Indie Rock multi-instrumentalist, lead singer and front man, who was recently invited to perform for internationally renowned PBS-distributed multimedia show “WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour”, a celebration of grassroots music filmed before a live audience in Lexington, Kentucky. He also just performed on the same bill with Robbie Krieger (The Doors) at a sold out private Gibson Showroom event in Beverly Hills in December, 2017.

Christian coined the name Velvet Starlings from the lyrical reference to “tired starlings” in the song “White Room” by Cream, as he enjoyed performing the song on bass, guitar and vocals; and from his interest in the Velvet Underground and all things 1960s.

Christian made his debut at the age of 12, at the annual Chico State University School of the Arts Production’s “Keep Chico Creative” music and arts festival, when he filled in for some school age music students who canceled last minute. His impressive performance captured the attention of a news reporter and Christian was subsequently interviewed and featured on local NBC news affiliate Action News Now.

In Summer 2016, Christian began to collaborate and track original songs with his father, a British songwriter and producer. In November, Velvet Starlings were invited to perform the original song “Coming Home” written by Roger Gisborne and Christian Gisborne for Chico’s E-R Sessions, the weekly local music showcase of the Chico Enterprise-Record. Velvet Starlings also was also invited to perform at local venues, farmer’s markets, community events and private parties, and Christian expanded his rootsy indie rock originals to include a large repertoire of 60s and 70s British Invasion and Southern California folk rock material.

In Spring 2017, Christian was officially invited to perform at the 4th Annual “Keep Chico Creative” Festival at the Downtown Plaza, in connection with the Downtown Chico Business Association’s Thursday Night Market in May 2017, with Klez and MAWD. This was followed by an invitation for Christian to perform for Sofar Sounds, an international program featuring developing and touring artists.

Christian who often performs as a solo artist at the Saturday Farmer’s Markets was approached by a local DJ and concert producer who invited him to perform on the lead float of the 100th Annual Chico Pioneer Day Parade, and to perform on the event main stage after the parade. As Christian is also a straight-A student from Notre Dame School and the 2017 Spelling Bee champion for all of Butte County, Mark Blaine from Action News Now, who had been following Christian’s budding career, ran a major television feature on Christian prior to the parade, along with a follow-up of Velvet Starlings performing live on the main float. Christian has also performed and been interviewed by KZFR a PBS affiliate.

Over Summer 2017 Christian was asked to perform in an artist showcase at The Gibson Showroom in Beverly Hills, which was sponsored by several record companies and brands, including Southern Comfort. Gibson had originally invited Christian to perform and meet with them in a private showcase in 2015. After the artist showcase, several bookers, A&R and other tastemakers, commented on Christian’s charisma, style, songs and vocal and musical ability and offered him shows and other opportunities, including bookers for Sofar Sounds, owners of a major festival in Scandinavia, local club bookers in Los Angeles and producers and casting directors from reality television shows. New York-based Scholar Pictures, which filmed Christian’s performance at The Gibson Showroom invited him to perform in Laurel Canyon for a music-and-wine marketing company.

Christian was also approached by a Los Angeles-based record producer to make a live recording as they did in the 60s. Christian traveled back to Los Angeles in August and the producer (who had just returned from Nashville after recording at Jack White’s live recording booth) tracked Christian as he sang and played guitar at once, performing each song all the way through, with only two microphones. Christian walked away with 6 tracks in 6 hours. In May, 2017, Christian commenced work on a studio EP for release in Spring 2018. The release will be available on iTunes, Spotify, and other outlets worldwide through The Orchard (Sony).

Christian is known to his family and friends as something of a rock historian, with tremendous knowledge of artists and their music, ranging from The Beatles, The Who and The Doors to Jack White, Blur, Gorillaz and Cage The Elephant. Christian who is also a budding producer has an unusual ability to hear a song, and perform every sound heard and replicate it onto a track (including the exact pedals, Nord sounds, bass lines, lead guitar, percussion, keyboards, background and lead vocals) creating what sounds like the actual recording. He enjoys playing and writing and recording songs and most of all he loves performing live. His Instagram is followed by many tastemakers including executives from Spotify and KROQ (Los Angeles). Christian is excited to be a part of the Recording Arts program at Inspire School of Arts & Sciences this year.

LOVE PAST BLUE –made up of vocalist Cadence (16), guitarist Jack Hickman (14), bassist Joe Galate (17) and drummer Logan Ellis Sheppard (16)–boasts a sound that is bold and sassy, straddling the line between pop and rock, and infused with a subtle blend of jazz and funk; drawing inspiration from early No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Evanescence. Their sophomore album is currently being produced by Sylvia Massy, who has a history of over 25 gold and platinum records, including several Grammy-nominated albums. The first single off that album, “V.I.P.,” was released everywhere on October 6th. “Working with Sylvia on our new music is literally a dream come true,” said Cadence. “She really believes in us and our music, and she has definitely taken the recordings to the next level.”

In June 2016, LOVE PAST BLUE brought their show to Houston for SpringBoard South, and by January 2017, they were headed to San Diego, California for SpringBoard West. Both music festivals were designed to bring emerging artists and music industry professionals together for mutual benefit. For LOVE PAST BLUE, this led to their partnership with legendary management consultant Vicky Hamilton, who is perhaps best known for launching the careers of multi-platinum bands Guns ‘N Roses and Poison, among others. The band’s sophomore album, produced by Massy, is due out in 2018 (details TBA). LOVE PAST BLUE are also confirmed for a run of shows on the west coast in January.

Influenced by a multitude of genres, from pop and electronic to southern rock and folk, McCall is a pop singer that strikes her audience on a unique sonic level. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, McCall spent most nights either writing alone in her basement, or playing the southeast indie circuit in famed venues like the Georgia Theater and Eddie’s Attic. Raised by a single mother, McCall grew up seeing how powerful and inspiring standing up for yourself and knowing what you deserve can be, and she continually empowers that confidence in her listeners.

She released her first EP, “Can’t Keep Waiting” at age 15, which included five tracks she wrote, arranged, and played guitar on. Her sophomore EP, “Everything Means Nothing” followed in 2016. In 2016, she moved to Los Angeles where she began top lining and writing for countless bands, DJ’s, and producers. She will begin production for her next project in December 2017.

Traditionally, a rift is an open space. It’s a place of possibility and promise. Los Angeles hard rock trio THE RIFT lives up to its moniker.

Bassist JOHN ANAGNOS says, “The name is the best way to describe the band, what we do, and the experience we portray live. The songs are meant to be an opening, and there’s a lot you can find within them.”

That openness has solidified the group–brothers ARIS ANAGNOS [vocals/guitar] and JOHN along with OVAIS MALIK [drums]–as one of Southern California’s most thrilling new rock upstarts. Since forming in 2009, the musicians have played alongside the likes of Exodus, Yngwie Malmsteen, The Misfits, and more as well as receiving nominations at the Hollywood Music Awards and Ventura County Music Awards. 2016’s full-length debut INVENTIONS crystallized their hard rock hooks and generated a ton of buzz on Pure Volume, JamintheVan, Screamer Magazine, Pure Grain Audio, and dozens of radio stations. The album also caught the attention of Grammy winning producer Brandon Friesen who worked famously with Alice in Chains and NickelBack, most recently the Kooks. Now in 2017 the band will release two singles “Rock Narcotic” and “Mysterious”. The band feels that with both songs they have reached a new level in song development and that they are onto something very special. “Rock Narcotic” is provocative and one can hear traces of Muse and System of a Down at times. The song is about losing yourself in the music and getting addicted to rock and roll. It has almost a reggae, flamenco vibe at times, but then hits hard with a chunky rock chorus. Aris Anagnos says it’s meant to be a tribute to the power of rock and roll. “Mysterious” has an incredible opening sequence, it starts with this airy synthesizer and crashes into a booming rock chorus fueled by a monster drum beat. It’s reminiscent of Ann Berlin in parts, and Kings of Leon in other places. John Anagnos said of the two songs “this one gave me chills”.
Punctuated by longtime friend OVAIS’s impenetrable percussion, it’s the familial bond between the brothers and close friends that brings another dimension to THE RIFT. “Being family helps with the collaborative process,” adds JOHN. “We tend to think along the same lines. There’s a certain magic to it. If I was playing with anybody else, it wouldn’t necessarily be there.

Blind Innocence is a 5 piece Alternative Folk Band, led by teenage singer/songwriter Angelyn (Vocals),
whose music crosses over into several genres, such as: Country, Rock, and Pop. The story began when
a very talented 13 year old Angelyn, showed her brother’s Guitar teacher Kevin Celinder(Guitars) a song
she had written. From that point the idea for a band was born, with Kevin starting out as the first drummer.
Brandon Shelton(guitars) joined the band soon after and although there were other musicians that would
sit in and play gigs with the band. This is the trio that has become the foundation of the band, “Blind Innocence”.
While Angelyn wrote the majority of the bands music and lyrics, collaborations were not unusual. Soon they
had enough material to take into the recording studio. After the recording of several originals the trio came out
of the studio and Kevin moved from drums to guitars.

Out of the studio, with enough material to perform live with they began to audition for a new drummer and a bass
player. Christian Demman(Bass) joined the trio in 2016 and after several drummers Mark Pacpaco(Drums), the
winner of Guitar Center’s 28th annual drum-off, became the final piece to this fabulous band.

Moontower is a brand new indie-electronic trio already making waves in Los Angeles. Taking inspiration from Justice and similar French house groups of the 90’s and 00’s, Moontower combines the non-stop energy of EDM with the raw power of a live band; simply put, Moontower is bringing the rock back to dance music. Moontower’s elaborate live shows have been their calling card in the three months since they came onto the scene. Though Moontower has only played two live shows ever, at their first they brought out 350 people. At their second, over 600. The band spent time before their first show building their own staging, lighting, visuals, and art-installations which has since given Moontower the reputation of going above and beyond in the live music space. They did this all without releasing a single piece of music. Right now, Moontower is building a fan base around their live shows, but they are excited to be releasing their first single in early March 2018. The single will coincide with a college tour that, while beginning in California, will move across the country as more and more people ask for Moontower to bring their electric performances to them.

Natalie Patton is a singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career (and because all of her friends were doing it). Natalie’s been performing since she was a pre-teen singing through braces in after-school musicals. While at UT completing her BFA in Acting, Natalie co-wrote, directed, and performed in a staged original song cycle called “Life, Love, and What I Lost,” contributing 7 of 12 original musical theatre pop songs. In Summer 2016, she opened for Trey Curtis at Houston’s Warehouse Live on his ’15 Revival tour. Natalie and her ukulele were frequent musical guests on Longhorn Late Night, an SNL-style variety program on Texas Student Television.

Natalie’s music is clever indie-pop. She plays ukulele, piano, and plucks at a rusty mandolin even though it hurts her fingers. She’s inspired by mostly indie and folk artists, but remains addicted to Top 40 hits. Natalie’s first EP of original music is set to be released in early 2018, produced by Barry Coffing and mixed by Dale Penner. After several years attending Springboard festivals as an observer, she’s excited to go to Springboard West as a performing artist.

Kara Connolly is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter, screenwriter, and actress from San Diego, CA. The “black sheep” of a medically-trained family, she loved performing at even a young age, dancing around and singing Shania Twain’s, “Man! I Feel like a Woman!” in a talent show when becoming a woman…of 6. She began writing her own songs only a few years later, touching upon more subjects that were far beyond her experience. One classic lyric that brings laughter to her Thanksgiving dinner table being, “yeah, you’re playing with me, but I don’t know why and you’re making me, making me cry.” A prolific songwriter in the making.

Kara started writing songs about her own life in high school, which, as it turns out, is far more interesting and significantly less scandalous. She picked up the guitar while taking classes within the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and discovered her own voice in the process—one of a storyteller that is simultaneously playful and sassy, yet self-aware and relatable.

Kara has a knack for uniquely catchy melody and her specific, tell-it-like-it-is lyrics grab your attention upon first listen—mostly because they ring so true. Upon graduation, Kara has continued studying her craft at the Songwriting School of Los Angeles and living the inspiration for the material she writes. She wrote close to one-hundred songs in preparation for her upcoming album, narrowing them down to the twelve songs she eventually recorded with producer, Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson).

The record is what Kara would define as, “relationship songs with a twist” and “pop music meets organic instrumentation—a smorgasbord of folk, country, and pop into whatever genre-less genre you would like to call it!” Its themes center around the balance between holding on and letting go, accepting one’s self-worth, asking for what you want, walking away from what no longer serves you and embracing vulnerability. Although written after Kara and her high-school sweetheart ended their 6 year relationship, what you won’t find on this album is cattiness, victim-mentality, the better-than-thou kind of empowerment anthem or the bashing of an ex-boyfriend. Instead, Kara wishes her ex well and openly acknowledges her own imperfections as she looks for a love that is more authentic to her values.

It is this that separates her from the rest of her peers and makes an album about finding oneself in your 20s truly new and refreshing. Kara is a young woman who knows herself. Her voice is one we haven’t heard before, and one that may empower girls and women (and also men!) of all ages to examine their own circumstances and make those difficult choices that are self- respecting and brave.
