With a blistering live show, The Killing Floor draws together raw visceral power, with impassioned melody and songwriting which has earned them comparisons to acts like, Queens of The Stone Age, Muse, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters and Nirvana.
The members, hailing from both the UK and US, came together when brothers Mark and Oliver Alberici from London, had a chance meeting with Marco Argiro at Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios in NYC where they had all been working with hit producer Mark Plati (David Bowie, Cure) on separate projects at the time. Recognizing they shared not only a producer, but many of the same influences, ideas and attitudes to music, they began writing and recording together and after taking the name The Killing Floor from the Howlin Wolf song, hit the road with their new material, quickly gathering a following and gaining the reputation of being one of the best new live acts around.
The Killing Floor then released their debut self-titled album which the press described as “an enticing record with mass appeal”, “proficient songwriting”, with an “infectious quality”. The song ‘Star Baby’ was chosen as the album’s first single, and the band shot their first music video with legendary Hollywood director Joel Schumacher, some of who’s film credits include: The Lost Boys, Batman Forever, A Time to Kill, and Flatliners. The single was featured in MTV programs, Road Rules Challenge, The Real World and Best Ink, and received heavy rotation on US radio. In support of this, TKF toured throughout the USA, Canada, UK and Europe, taking in events such as CMJ, SXSW, CBGB Festival, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape, and Donnington’s Download Festival.
The band then headed back in the studios of Brighton England, Nashville and NYC, to begin writing and recording what would be their second album ‘Antisocialmedia’ from which the band released the first single ‘Corruption Capital’ . The song received extensive rotation on US national commercial rock radio playlists including WBOS, KNDD, KXXR, KNRK and WRKZ to name a few. Pure Volume described the single as “a seamless blend of melody and political rock” and the video was premiered on Guitar World Magazine. The video also gained heavy rotation being featured in all Journeys shoe stores throughout the USA.
Last year saw the The Killing Floor continue to deliver their hard hitting blend of rock swagger to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic with live performances at SXSW, The Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, where they joined the Vans Warp Tour in conjunction with Ernie Ball, Indie Week Europe as special guests after winning ‘First Prize Best Band’ at Indie Week Canada in Toronto, and across the UK in support of the release of their Ep ’Tongue Tied’.
Once again the EP and live shows received rave reviews and featured on various TV and radio stations.

Our debut EP, The Architect, is now available everywhere! In these works, we introduce the allegorical character we call The Architect. He is a medium through which we express our storytelling and creativity.
The Jacks stand by their claim, “We are not a rock band, we are a rock n’ roll band.” With a heavy influence from the British Invasion of the 1960s and 70s, The Jacks have developed a rare sound that is unruly, bold, and hard to be ignored – they won’t settle with blending into the scene. While not trying to fix what isn’t broken and pushing the boundaries for tomorrow, The Jacks consistently deliver fresh but timeless music.
From their live shows to their recording techniques, they keep integrity to who they are and how they believe their music should sound. The 4-piece doesn’t hide behind backing tracks or auto-tune, what you hear is what you get.
With their new single “She’s a Mystery” and an EP release slated for Jan 2018, The Jacks are “holstering loads of promise, so it’s time you gave them a listen, have the advantage of being able to shout ‘I heard ’em before they got famous’ when they crack the big time, and indulge in some great music.” (One Stop Record Shop).

Damian Sage is a singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. A native of New York City, Damian’s music is deeply steeped in the wisdom and experience of someone who has seen it all.
At the age of 12, Damian bought his rst guitar at a garage sale for $5.
The guitar had only two strings, but it was enough for Sage to learn a basic blues riff, and begin a musical journey inspired by the blues. It wasn’t long before Sage experienced blues in his own life, with homelessness and expulsion from high school leading him into a troubled transition into adulthood.
It was in music that Damian found solace, playing shows around the city wherever and whenever he could. This perseverant desire to play and to share his music and his world with others recently led the artist to follow his dreams to LA, where some of his favorite bands (Guns N’ Roses and The Doors, to name a few) had their start.
Damian’s music can range from blues, to rock, to alternative, but it is always deeply and irrevocably rooted in heart. Damian’s heart for others who have struggled like him has inspired him to give his all to the communities around him, organizing charity events of his own accord to help touch people with his music, raise awareness, and ultimately to let the world know they are not alone.
A true diamond in the rough as an artist and an individual, Damian can always promise to deliver one thing this city and the world sorely craves:
In his own words, “I’m real, if nothing else.”
Hunter Hayes in August 2017 at Preston Taylor Boys and Girls Club in Nashville
“The country-pop narrative of Plano’s Taylor Gayle is very reminiscent of a certain famous Taylor in her younger days, but that’s about all of the comparisons that we’ll make regarding her young career. Gayle is only 12 years old, but when you hear her sing, you would never assume that age in the slightest. With a bit of country, and a bit of pop, she has a very commercial sound that could easily turn her into a household name before she’s legally able to drive a car. The music industry has taken note, as well; her debut EP was created with the help of Margaret Becker, a Grammy-nominated producer with a string of successful singles to her name. Taylor Gayle has made the move to Nashville, and when you hear her, you’ll understand that she’s more than a kid with a dream.”
Allen Halas, BreakingandEntering.net Five to Watch in November 2016
“If Taylor stays on this path of growth and learning, she will be a force to be reckoned with.”
Rick Barker- Founder of Music Industry Blueprint and Former Manager of Taylor Swift
“Taylor is the epitome of soon to be superstar. There is a rare breed of artists, in her genre, that embody the natural ability to write, sing, and perform at an equally high level. The fact that she has begun to master those attributes at such a young age is remarkable. Her energy and drive for perfection is contagious in the studio. I have never worked with an artist her age that has such a high level of patience for getting things right. That persistence for perfection is sure to be a driving force in her growth as an artist.”
Giovanni, Owner of The Record Shop
“She is a prodigy. Get ready it is happening sooner vs. later for her.”
Tracy D. Matthews – Owner of The ME Company, LLC and worked with management team for Beyoncé
“You have IT!”
“We were both playing in another band that we had found on Craigslist. We didn’t have much of a say from a creative aspect and that band was heading in a different direction musically than we wanted to go. We broke off and started our own project and couldn’t be happier with the results” – Cody Seeger, Lead Guitar
Liam and Cody settled on the band name, Lad’s Holiday, after Liam (a Manchester, England native) had used the phrase when describing what Americans may call a “guys trip” or “dudes weekend”. The name stuck and the theme of the band was born (Hawaiian shirts, pineapples, inflatable zebras, etc… you get the idea).
Lad’s Holiday spent a few months writing and recording their 6-track debut EP tiled “THE EP” with Skyler Lutes and his Sunset Cliffs based studio. After releasing the EP at the end of May 2016 Skyler officially joined the band to play Bass. The last piece was finding Drummer, John Martinez, to round out the 4-piece lineup.
Look for the Indie rockers to put out their second EP in January 2018.

Watch out world, She is Next!
Christian coined the name Velvet Starlings from the lyrical reference to “tired starlings” in the song “White Room” by Cream, as he enjoyed performing the song on bass, guitar and vocals; and from his interest in the Velvet Underground and all things 1960s.
Christian made his debut at the age of 12, at the annual Chico State University School of the Arts Production’s “Keep Chico Creative” music and arts festival, when he filled in for some school age music students who canceled last minute. His impressive performance captured the attention of a news reporter and Christian was subsequently interviewed and featured on local NBC news affiliate Action News Now.
In Summer 2016, Christian began to collaborate and track original songs with his father, a British songwriter and producer. In November, Velvet Starlings were invited to perform the original song “Coming Home” written by Roger Gisborne and Christian Gisborne for Chico’s E-R Sessions, the weekly local music showcase of the Chico Enterprise-Record. Velvet Starlings also was also invited to perform at local venues, farmer’s markets, community events and private parties, and Christian expanded his rootsy indie rock originals to include a large repertoire of 60s and 70s British Invasion and Southern California folk rock material.
In Spring 2017, Christian was officially invited to perform at the 4th Annual “Keep Chico Creative” Festival at the Downtown Plaza, in connection with the Downtown Chico Business Association’s Thursday Night Market in May 2017, with Klez and MAWD. This was followed by an invitation for Christian to perform for Sofar Sounds, an international program featuring developing and touring artists.
Christian who often performs as a solo artist at the Saturday Farmer’s Markets was approached by a local DJ and concert producer who invited him to perform on the lead float of the 100th Annual Chico Pioneer Day Parade, and to perform on the event main stage after the parade. As Christian is also a straight-A student from Notre Dame School and the 2017 Spelling Bee champion for all of Butte County, Mark Blaine from Action News Now, who had been following Christian’s budding career, ran a major television feature on Christian prior to the parade, along with a follow-up of Velvet Starlings performing live on the main float. Christian has also performed and been interviewed by KZFR a PBS affiliate.
Over Summer 2017 Christian was asked to perform in an artist showcase at The Gibson Showroom in Beverly Hills, which was sponsored by several record companies and brands, including Southern Comfort. Gibson had originally invited Christian to perform and meet with them in a private showcase in 2015. After the artist showcase, several bookers, A&R and other tastemakers, commented on Christian’s charisma, style, songs and vocal and musical ability and offered him shows and other opportunities, including bookers for Sofar Sounds, owners of a major festival in Scandinavia, local club bookers in Los Angeles and producers and casting directors from reality television shows. New York-based Scholar Pictures, which filmed Christian’s performance at The Gibson Showroom invited him to perform in Laurel Canyon for a music-and-wine marketing company.
Christian was also approached by a Los Angeles-based record producer to make a live recording as they did in the 60s. Christian traveled back to Los Angeles in August and the producer (who had just returned from Nashville after recording at Jack White’s live recording booth) tracked Christian as he sang and played guitar at once, performing each song all the way through, with only two microphones. Christian walked away with 6 tracks in 6 hours. In May, 2017, Christian commenced work on a studio EP for release in Spring 2018. The release will be available on iTunes, Spotify, and other outlets worldwide through The Orchard (Sony).
Christian is known to his family and friends as something of a rock historian, with tremendous knowledge of artists and their music, ranging from The Beatles, The Who and The Doors to Jack White, Blur, Gorillaz and Cage The Elephant. Christian who is also a budding producer has an unusual ability to hear a song, and perform every sound heard and replicate it onto a track (including the exact pedals, Nord sounds, bass lines, lead guitar, percussion, keyboards, background and lead vocals) creating what sounds like the actual recording. He enjoys playing and writing and recording songs and most of all he loves performing live. His Instagram is followed by many tastemakers including executives from Spotify and KROQ (Los Angeles). Christian is excited to be a part of the Recording Arts program at Inspire School of Arts & Sciences this year.

Sound x 3 Records is pleased to announce the worldwide digital release of ‘Old Soul New World’ by California neo soul and indie pop writer and recording artist, John Klezmer aka “Klez” in fall 2017. ‘Old Soul New World’ is the explosive and aptly titled second EP of Klez, whose music lies somewhere in the nebulous middle of the soul spectrum. Take the purity and resonance of Hozier and pair it with the soulful grit of Son Little, and you get Klez. Old Soul New World is a refreshing throwback to the glory days of Motown. It is Klez unchained and ready to steal the anthems of summer. The EP was recorded in the Bay Area; mixed in Northern California and mastered by audio guru, Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Artic Monkeys, and Cage the Elephant) at Magic Gardens Mastering in Los Angeles.
With the support of fans at home and abroad, Klez took to the road in April, 2017 on a Scandinavian tour where he performed in clubs, universities and radio stations. Following the tour, Klez was offered a several spots at Sweden’s “Live At Heart” festival in August, 2017 which is one of Scandinavia’s biggest showcase festivals, akin to SXSW in the USA. Upon returning to California, Klez was welcomed back to headline the “Keep Chico Creative” festival in Chico, California, which attracts thousands of people every year. Klez will be fully immersing himself in a series of summertime shows between the Bay Area and Los Angeles, while preparing to leave for Europe on another tour in support of his new EP in August, 2017.
Klez’s debut EP, Here Right Now, was released in May 2016. The title track from the EP was featured in a promo for the finale of the ABC primetime show, “Castle,” in May 2016. The waves from the release of this EP quickly led Klez to well-known venues throughout Los Angeles. Over this last year, Klez has gained momentum in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. His consistent dynamic performances have earned him headlining spots at respected venues across the city, including. Klez is set for an upcoming explosive European tour.
Over his career, Klez has performed with artists, such as Con Brio, Joey Dosik, The Main Squeeze, and Gene Evaro Jr. Klez was raised playing multiple instruments and listening closely to his family’s music collection, which included the likes of Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder. While Klez was still in college at Chico State, he was discovered by Los Angeles based label, Sound x 3 Records, in the music industry program’s bi-annual singer songwriter competition, Chico Unplugged.
Traditionally, a rift is an open space. It’s a place of possibility and promise. Los Angeles hard rock trio THE RIFT lives up to its moniker.
Bassist JOHN ANAGNOS says, “The name is the best way to describe the band, what we do, and the experience we portray live. The songs are meant to be an opening, and there’s a lot you can find within them.”
That openness has solidified the group–brothers ARIS ANAGNOS [vocals/guitar] and JOHN along with OVAIS MALIK [drums]–as one of Southern California’s most thrilling new rock upstarts. Since forming in 2009, the musicians have played alongside the likes of Exodus, Yngwie Malmsteen, The Misfits, and more as well as receiving nominations at the Hollywood Music Awards and Ventura County Music Awards. 2016’s full-length debut INVENTIONS crystallized their hard rock hooks and generated a ton of buzz on Pure Volume, JamintheVan, Screamer Magazine, Pure Grain Audio, and dozens of radio stations. The album also caught the attention of Grammy winning producer Brandon Friesen who worked famously with Alice in Chains and NickelBack, most recently the Kooks. Now in 2017 the band will release two singles “Rock Narcotic” and “Mysterious”. The band feels that with both songs they have reached a new level in song development and that they are onto something very special. “Rock Narcotic” is provocative and one can hear traces of Muse and System of a Down at times. The song is about losing yourself in the music and getting addicted to rock and roll. It has almost a reggae, flamenco vibe at times, but then hits hard with a chunky rock chorus. Aris Anagnos says it’s meant to be a tribute to the power of rock and roll. “Mysterious” has an incredible opening sequence, it starts with this airy synthesizer and crashes into a booming rock chorus fueled by a monster drum beat. It’s reminiscent of Ann Berlin in parts, and Kings of Leon in other places. John Anagnos said of the two songs “this one gave me chills”.
Punctuated by longtime friend OVAIS’s impenetrable percussion, it’s the familial bond between the brothers and close friends that brings another dimension to THE RIFT. “Being family helps with the collaborative process,” adds JOHN. “We tend to think along the same lines. There’s a certain magic to it. If I was playing with anybody else, it wouldn’t necessarily be there.
Being self taught in the arts of guitar, bass, drums, banjo, keyboard and vocals has helped Nathan King create his music from every aspect. Having tackled the world of hard rock and heavy metal, Nathan decided to go back to his small town roots, where the simple things hold all the best memories that anyone could ask for. The result is incredible, and the new album “Heaven Tonight” is sure to please country music lovers everywhere.
1. the members of a household
The Ferreira siblings spent their childhood travelling between Toronto Canada, and a small town in Portugal where their heritage and much of their family still lived. Whether due to The Beatles records on at home, the exposure to traditional Portuguese music or the church, music was a heavy influence on the children.
In 2015 Ménage signed a deal with iPLAY records out of Portugal. Rotation on radio and two national tours followed.
In 2016 Menage released their album in China and played a 14 city tour in China which included performances at the famous MIDI festival and MTA festivals.
With a new release scheduled for early 2018, Canadian and U.S. tour dates and returning to China, Ménage don’t expect to have much downtime anytime soon.

Her self-titled EP released last year, was recorded by the Grammy-nominated Dan Burns. Since the release, Carly has collaborated with a number of different producers between Los Angeles and Nashville, experimenting with her sound as she continues to release singles.
Carly’s soft buttery vocal delivery has been compared to that of Hope Sandoval from Mazzy Star, she has also frequently been likened to the aforementioned Jewel.

whose music crosses over into several genres, such as: Country, Rock, and Pop. The story began when
a very talented 13 year old Angelyn, showed her brother’s Guitar teacher Kevin Celinder(Guitars) a song
she had written. From that point the idea for a band was born, with Kevin starting out as the first drummer.
Brandon Shelton(guitars) joined the band soon after and although there were other musicians that would
sit in and play gigs with the band. This is the trio that has become the foundation of the band, “Blind Innocence”.
While Angelyn wrote the majority of the bands music and lyrics, collaborations were not unusual. Soon they
had enough material to take into the recording studio. After the recording of several originals the trio came out
of the studio and Kevin moved from drums to guitars.
Out of the studio, with enough material to perform live with they began to audition for a new drummer and a bass
player. Christian Demman(Bass) joined the trio in 2016 and after several drummers Mark Pacpaco(Drums), the
winner of Guitar Center’s 28th annual drum-off, became the final piece to this fabulous band.

Danny McMahon is a commercial singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and director of Puzzle Maker Studios in Bristol, UK. With a passion and talent for creating compelling vocal harmonies, powerful melodies and meaningful lyrical content, Danny is in his element within the country music scene.
His passion for Country music began upon introduction to the famous Brad Paisley song ‘Letter to me’. He said he ‘connected with the songs’ realness and authenticity’. As he became increasingly fixed upon the way country music uses emotive lyrics and shows such a great level of relatability, Danny thought he’d give writing country music a go, little did he know that he actually had quite a talent for it. This fuelled the beginning of Danny’s pursuit of the country music business.
Danny takes his country influence through artists such as Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, Brett Young and Chase Bryant and now wants to use his talent for songwriting to reach people through his music. His debut EP ‘Making Memories’ has been written, recorded and produced by Danny himself at his very own Puzzle Maker Studios, and his since gained international radio play in Australia, Europe and the USA featuring heavily on Big Time radio as well as regular playlisting through UK Country radio. The lead single “What It’s Like” has also been repeatedly featured on Keep It Country TV Europe’s only Country TV channel.
Your Favorite Color is an Alternative/Indie Rock band out of Huntington Beach, California consisting of Matt Warren (lead vocalist), Luke Fuhrman (drummer), Ari Miranda (bass guitarist), and David Silveria (lead guitarist). The band started when Matt moved from Lehi, Utah to Huntington Beach at the age of fifteen due to his mother’s job promotion. Matt then began taking vocal lessons from a local music program which led him join his first band called ‘The White Wheeled Indies’ (WWI). Matt played a few local backyard shows with WWI as their lead guitarist, but the band broke up shortly afterwards. Not knowing what to do with music, Matt was shown how to create a personal home studio by a former friend/vocalist of WWI named Cameron Peniado (current lead guitarist for ‘The Shakes’). It was there he wrote the song that began the dream of becoming a successful musician called “Heartache” along with a couple others under the artist name of ‘Peri’. After the song demo was released there was a surprising amount of major positive feedback from local fans. Soon after the release, former drummer of WWI named Luke fuhrman reached out to Matt with a desire to turn the demo into something greater. Luke and Matt worked together and used there resources to make the songs playable live by using backing tracks and an old worn PA system. But, it still wasn’t enough and they needed more members. Then came another good friend of theirs named Ari Miranda. At the time Ari was 17 years old and had left Huntington Beach on a solo journey to Hawaii due his hunger of exploration for the world around him and need of Independence. Although, Ari found a large peace of himself in Hawaii he decided that he had outgrown the island and wanted to shoot for higher skies. Therefore, moved back to Huntington to join Matt and Luke in there creation of what was yet to be ‘Your Favorite Color’. Now that Matt and Luke had a third member, they decided they were ready for the eyes of world, but still needed something to call themselves. By going through countless names for weeks they decided on ‘Your Favorite Color’, which came from one of Matt’s original song demos called “Your Favorite Color Is Red and Mine Is Blue”. Matt, Luke and Ari then played their first show at Chain Reaction Studious and brought a good size crowd. Since then, the band has grown exponentially and gained a fourth band member named David Silveria, (son of the original drummer of famous Rock band Korn). Natalie’s music is clever indie-pop. She plays ukulele, piano, and plucks at a rusty mandolin even though it hurts her fingers. She’s inspired by mostly indie and folk artists, but remains addicted to Top 40 hits. Natalie’s first EP of original music is set to be released in early 2018, produced by Barry Coffing and mixed by Dale Penner. After several years attending Springboard festivals as an observer, she’s excited to go to Springboard West as a performing artist.
Kara started writing songs about her own life in high school, which, as it turns out, is far more interesting and significantly less scandalous. She picked up the guitar while taking classes within the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and discovered her own voice in the process—one of a storyteller that is simultaneously playful and sassy, yet self-aware and relatable.
Kara has a knack for uniquely catchy melody and her specific, tell-it-like-it-is lyrics grab your attention upon first listen—mostly because they ring so true. Upon graduation, Kara has continued studying her craft at the Songwriting School of Los Angeles and living the inspiration for the material she writes. She wrote close to one-hundred songs in preparation for her upcoming album, narrowing them down to the twelve songs she eventually recorded with producer, Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson).
The record is what Kara would define as, “relationship songs with a twist” and “pop music meets organic instrumentation—a smorgasbord of folk, country, and pop into whatever genre-less genre you would like to call it!” Its themes center around the balance between holding on and letting go, accepting one’s self-worth, asking for what you want, walking away from what no longer serves you and embracing vulnerability. Although written after Kara and her high-school sweetheart ended their 6 year relationship, what you won’t find on this album is cattiness, victim-mentality, the better-than-thou kind of empowerment anthem or the bashing of an ex-boyfriend. Instead, Kara wishes her ex well and openly acknowledges her own imperfections as she looks for a love that is more authentic to her values.
It is this that separates her from the rest of her peers and makes an album about finding oneself in your 20s truly new and refreshing. Kara is a young woman who knows herself. Her voice is one we haven’t heard before, and one that may empower girls and women (and also men!) of all ages to examine their own circumstances and make those difficult choices that are self- respecting and brave.
Hold a mirror up to the melting pot that is America and you may just see Danielle Prou’s reflection in the glass. Her father is a fourth-generation American of Spanish heritage. Her mother is a refugee survivor of Cambodia’s sinister Killing Fields. Born in Australia and now living in Los Angeles, cross-cultural beauty glows bright in her face, much as the hopes and dreams of a young American emanate eloquently from her songs. She’s a one-woman embodiment of the multicultural reach for a shared destiny that is the American experience.
For Danielle, music is at the foundation of everything. As she puts it, “Music is the glue that holds the whole world together. I don’t know what life would be without it.” When she was younger, she pursued acting, and landed several gigs, but it soon became clear that music was her true passion. When she was twelve, she began working with Shaun Royer, a vocal coach known for helping to launch the careers of young artists. It was at Royer’s urging that she began writing songs on guitar, and the piano (her chief songwriting instrument).
At thirteen, now strumming the ukulele, Prou released “Awkward”—a song that went straight to the heart of those early first-crush memories. “I was struggling to write some new material,” Danielle remembers, “I told my dad and he gave me the premise of ‘awkward.’ I went upstairs, grabbed my ukulele and wrote all night. The song is about liking someone, and not being sure if they like you back. It’s based on a real person, but I managed to keep it straightforward and lighthearted, so people other than just me could relate to it.”
Prou has kept on releasing honest, sincere and insightful songs ever since. Her consistently fresh creative output resulted in her first album, Songs About Stuff —a title that speaks less about simplicity than it does the creative worldview that began with “Awkward”— “I write about things in my life, but I try to not make them so mundane that they wouldn’t be interesting for other people.”
In addition to releasing a steady stream of songs and videos, she’s developed into a show stopping performer featured on several tours. Fans all over the country, and in the United Kingdom, have gotten to know her and learn just how deeply her songs speak to them. She’s also worked with some big name producers, like Justin Gray (Mariah Carey, Joss Stone) and Brody Brown (Adele, Bruno Mars). But superstardom isn’t the goal for Prou. “I’m not looking for this huge celebrity life. I don’t want to be just a character or a personality. I want to make music that speaks from my heart to other people’s hearts, and hopefully they’ll jump on the wagon and support me. Joss Stone isn’t as big as Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, but she made a strong career for herself, doing what she loved, without being in the limelight all the time. She’s a respected musician, and that’s more important to me.”
Where Danielle’s performances are electric, her choice of material is wonderfully eclectic. When she isn’t singing her own songs, she loves interpreting songs by other artists, mining a wealth of music created well before she was born. She recently spoke about some favorite covers: “I decided to take more of a Joss Stone approach to ‘Son of a Preacher Man’—originally done by Dusty Springfield, to make the song edgier. It is, after all, about having a secret relationship. And there’s ‘Operator,’ by the late, great, Jim Croce. I’m a huge Jim Croce fan, and that particular song touches me the most.”
Prou released her single, and video for “The Healer,” a haunting exploration of personal sadness, longing and redemption. Built around a sultry vocal hook and swelling strings, “The Healer” captures the exceptional level of maturity this young songwriter has reached. Earlier this year she released her take on “You Make My Dreams Come True” and her most recent single, “Humerus”.
